By subscribing to Homeducate, you agree to this policy.

2. Subscription Plans

2.1 Available Plans

  • Monthly Plan: £6.99 per month - Automatically charged monthly, can cancel anytime
  • Annual Plan: £59.99 per year - Automatically charged annually, can cancel anytime, saves £23.89

2.2 Free Trial

  • Duration: 14 days
  • Cost: £0 (completely free)
  • Features: Full access to all features
  • Credit Card: Not required during trial
  • Cancellation: Can cancel anytime during trial with no charge

3. How to Cancel Your Subscription

3.1 Self-Service Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Billing Portal:

  1. Log in to your Homeducate account
  2. Go to Billing page
  3. Click "Manage Subscription"
  4. You'll be redirected to Stripe Billing Portal
  5. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  6. Confirm cancellation

Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period.

3.2 Cancel via Email

Alternatively, email us at support@homeducate.co.uk with subject "Cancel Subscription" and include your account email address. We'll process within 24 hours (weekdays).

4. Refund Policy

4.1 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

For First-Time Subscribers:

If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription, you are eligible for a full refund.

✅ Eligible: First subscription only, cancel within 14 days of first payment

❌ Not Eligible: Renewal subscriptions, after 14 days, free trial (no payment made), accounts terminated for Terms violation

How to Request:

  2. Subject: "Refund Request - [Your Email]"
  3. Include: Reason for refund (optional but helpful)
  4. We'll process within 3-5 business days

Refund Method: Refunded to original payment method via Stripe. May take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement.

4.2 No Refunds for Renewals

Monthly Subscriptions: No refunds for renewal months, no partial month refunds

Annual Subscriptions: No refunds for renewal years, no partial year refunds, no pro-rata refunds

Example: You subscribe on Jan 1 for £59.99/year. You cancel on June 1 (5 months in). No refund for unused 7 months. Access continues until Dec 31. No charge for next year.

4.3 No Refunds For

  • ❌ Change of mind after 14 days
  • ❌ Not using the Service
  • ❌ Forgetting to cancel before renewal
  • ❌ Account termination for Terms violations
  • ❌ User error or misuse

5. What Happens After Cancellation

5.1 Access Period

You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No immediate cancellation.

Example: Cancel on June 15, paid through June 30 → Access until June 30

5.2 Data Retention

30-Day Grace Period:

  • Your data is retained for 30 days after subscription ends
  • You can still log in and export your data
  • You can resubscribe to restore full access

After 30 Days:

  • Your account is permanently deleted
  • All data is permanently deleted (timetables, work logs, assignments, progress, student accounts)

⚠️ Important: Export your data before the 30-day period expires if you want to keep it.

6. Auto-Renewal and Billing

6.1 How Auto-Renewal Works

Monthly: Charged on the same day each month (e.g., First payment Jan 15 → Next payment Feb 15)

Annual: Charged on the same day each year (e.g., First payment Jan 15, 2024 → Next payment Jan 15, 2025)

6.2 Renewal Reminders

We will send email reminders:

  • 7 days before renewal for annual plans
  • 3 days before renewal for monthly plans

6.3 Stopping Auto-Renewal

Cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the renewal date to prevent auto-renewal. You keep access until the end of current period.

7. Consumer Rights (UK)

Under UK consumer law (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), you have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases with the right to cancel and receive a full refund.
