The Homeducate Story
Homeducate was born from real-world experience with the challenges of home educating a child through GCSEs. As a homeschooling parent, I found myself juggling spreadsheets, paper planners, and various apps - none of which were designed for the specific needs of UK home education.
The constant questions kept me up at night: "Are we covering everything in the GCSE specification?" "Can I prove to the Local Authority what we've been studying?" "How do I keep track of progress across multiple subjects?"
After countless hours trying to cobble together solutions from generic planning tools, I realised what was needed - a purpose-built platform that understands the unique requirements of homeschooling families preparing for GCSEs.
What started as a personal project to organize my own child's education has grown into a comprehensive platform designed to help homeschooling families across the UK. Every feature in Homeducate addresses a real challenge that home educators face.
Today, Homeducate brings together everything you need: GCSE specifications, progress tracking, portfolio generation for LA reviews, and tools to keep students motivated - all in one place.
The name came about by a simple play on Home and Educate. I needed a name for the app very quickly, and it just stuck.
